The Collège de Ronsard is in the heart of the Trois-Cités district. It counts among its 715 students, young people of the district and the surrounding communes.
The Trois-Cités quarter drags its bad reputation like a thread to the paw. Delinquency, insecurity, incivility ... The ideas received are tenacious. "That's true," admits Francine Mesmin. In the 1980s, I would not have set foot outside after a certain hour ... "The president of the association Pourquoi pas La Ruche wants to be reassuring, however. "Today, for nothing in the world, I would leave this neighborhood. There is everything nearby: shops, schools, services, clinic. Above all, calm has returned. "
Since 2006, the district has benefited from a major renovation program under the National Urban Renewal Agency (ANRU). Construction of social housing and rehabilitation of old buildings, opening of associative premises and reinforcement of the police presence ... "The Three Cities offer a new face", claim its inhabitants. Diversity is present in this neighborhood, as in college, which is its strength.
